Afghanistan National Olympic Committee and Taekwondo federation leadership met with the ambassador of South Korea for Afghanistan.
Dr. Hafizullah Wali Rahimi, elected president of Afghanistan National Olympic Committee appreciated the long-term and constructive cooperation of South Korea with Afghanistan in different parts, especially in development of sports and valuable services of Min Sin Hak, head coach of Afghanistan Taekwondo team.
Mr. Rahimi added that relations between the Olympic Committees of the two countries and sports organizations, long term cooperation and support of south Korea is vital for sport of Afghanistan.
Mr. Choi Tai-ho, the ambassador of south Korea for Afghanistan referring to friendly relations between Afghanistan and south Korea praised the efforts of Afghanistan National Olympic Committee in the development of sports, especially the recent achievements and efforts of the Afg-Taekwondo federation, and pledged to strengthen the relation of sports organization of two countries.
Dr, yonus Popalzay, the secretary-general of the Afghanistan Olympic Committee appreciated the continued cooperation of South Korea for the sports of Afghanistan and talked about activists of the Afghanistan Olympic for sports and construction of a gymnasium for taekwondo.
Mr. Popalzay, requested for an agreement between Olympic Committees of Afghanistan and South Korea to strengthen the relations between the two organizations.
Dr. Najibullah Sekandar, President of the Taekwondo Federation of Afghanistan, also praised South Korea for its continued assistance to the Taekwondo Federation and called for more cooperation between South Korea and the Taekwondo Federation.
A memorandum of cooperation between the two countries’ National Olympic Committee is expected to be signed in the near future in cooperation with the South Korean ambassador.
